Guest Lecture: “De la valeur des hippocampes” by Prof. Dr. Jean-Baptiste Pettier at the University of Lyon
We’re excited to share that Prof. Dr. Jean-Baptiste Pettier will be giving a guest lecture at the University of Lyon (France) on his current research project Affective Trades, which explores the commerce, use, and protection of seahorses in contemporary China.
The talk, titled “De la valeur des hippocampes: ethnographie des débats culturels et scientifiques concernant l’usage d’une espèce protégée en Chine contemporaine”, will be presented in French, but highlights a key aspect of Prof. Dr. Jean-Baptiste Pettier ethnographic work that may interest many in our community.
