SDAC Workshop Series Winter Semester 2022/2023: Personal Safety and Self-Defense

In the framework of the SDAC workshop series, SDAC students from three different cohorts joined the “Personal Safety and Self-Defense” workshop on Friday, 4th November.

During the lecture part of the workshop, participants considered the types of threats and causes of conflicts, learned how to detect a threat, and analyzed the possibility of de-escalation of the conflict. In the practical part, they learned the basic elements of self-defense, such as a stable position that is easy to defend and run from, proper defense, and how to escape holds.

 

 

 

 

The workshop was hosted by our student Kseniya Moshykhina who has a background in physical education and worked as a self-defense and combative trainer.
